How much stuff can I bring onto the Basin Transit Buses?

Basin Transit Service has a 2x2x3 rule for personal belongs, shopping carts, and or bags.


Can I bring a Bike onto Basin Transit Buses?

Yes, all Basin Transit Buses are equipped with bike racks on the front of the buses.


What are the restricted & prohibited items not aloud on Basin Transit Services?

  • Car batteries: The lead-acid and corrosive contents make car batteries unsafe for bus transport.
  • Flammable fuels: Substances like gasoline, kerosene, or other fuel for camping equipment are not allowed.
  • Weapons and sharp objects: Items such as firearms, knives, and other dangerous instruments are prohibited on buses.
  • Large, cumbersome, or leaking items: For safety and space reasons, objects that could shift, fall, or leak are generally not allowed.
  • Aerosol cans: While some personal-use items may be allowed, many aerosol products are flammable and may be prohibited. 
  • Gas Powered Bikes.



Why these items are prohibited:

  • Explosions or fires from flammable or explosive materials.
  • Exposure to toxic substances from spills or leaks.
  • Injury to passengers or operators from shifting or unstable cargo.
